Tanna Chong Joins VerifyVASP as Head of Public Policy

We are delighted to announce that Tanna Chong has joined VerifyVASP as Head of Public Policy, further strengthening our position as a global leader in Travel Rule solutions.

Tanna brings extensive expertise in regulatory compliance and policy-making, enhancing VerifyVASP’s ability to support our clients in meeting digital asset anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing (AML/CFT) obligations. She previously served at the Financial Services and the Treasury Bureau of Hong Kong as Assistant Secretary, where she played a key role in shaping AML/CFT and digital asset policies including Hong Kong’s digital asset policy blueprint, the stablecoins legislative framework, and regulatory regimes for a wide range of digital asset activities.

Tanna also led Hong Kong’s engagement with the Financial Action Task Force (FATF). Prior to that, she served at the FATF Secretariat, focusing on global reforms related to beneficial ownership and payment transparency, and advising jurisdictions across the FATF Global Network on effective implementation of international standards.

Following her government service, Tanna was Chief Policy Officer at the Responsible Fintech Institute, fostering trust and collaboration between the public and private sectors.
